AIMS

The aim of this project was to improve the experience of supermarket shopping with a young child.

We built three prototypes, tested them with end users so that we could measure it against pre-defined KPIs and ultimately make a judgment as to whether it met the user need.

IMPACT AND OUTCOMES

Children’s behaviour can be much harder to read, understand and measure. We measured desirability by how much the prototype was used within a shop and we measured effectiveness of the prototype through the feelings of the parent/carer shopping with their child. These insights were gained through interviews, accompanied shops and observations.

This concept has not currently moved forward into stores but the insights gathered helped to inform other products now in store.

KEY PROJECT ACTIVITIES

  • USER RESEARCH in context - Accompanied shops, digital diary studies and interviews

  • ideation

  • Building three prototypes

  • Combining qualitative and quantitative research to create recommendations.
